Q&A With Margaret Atwood at the 2022 Gala!

Margaret Atwood’s work has been recognized for numerous awards, including the Booker Prize, the Peace Prize of the German Book Trade, the Franz Kafka Prize, the PEN Center USA Lifetime Achievement Award, and the LA Times Innovator’s Award. She is a member of the Order of the Companions of Honour for services to literature.

Ms. Atwood’s work has been published in over 45 countries, and she is the acclaimed author of over 50 books of fiction, poetry, critical essays, and graphic novels.

Her novel THE TESTAMENTS, a sequel to THE HANDMAID'S TALE, is a co-winner of the 2019 Booker Prize. She is also the Author of HAG-SEED, a novel based on William Shakespeare’s THE TEMPEST and set in the context of a modern-day men’s prison.

Prison Performing Arts commissioned Stacie Lents to adapt HAG-SEED into a play, which was then performed at Northeast Correctional Center in Bowling Green in May, directed by Lucy Cashion.

Following the performances, the artists who participated in the show filmed questions for Ms. Atwood, who in turn filmed her responses. This virtual Q&A session of insight and humor will be premiered for attendees at the 16th Annual Prison Performing Arts Gala.

The Gala is only two weeks away!
