BOWLING GREEN, MO
JUNE 2019
PLOT SUMMARY
First produced at the women's prison in 2016, this remarkable script, developed originally by the Steppenwolf Theatre in Chicago, is a powerful, moving and funny adaptation of Orwell’s bestseller. It’s the story of a downtrodden society of overworked, mistreated animals and their quest to create a paradise of progress, justice, and equality. This script, now optioned as a film, was granted for use in prisons through PPA by the Orwell Estate, who were interested in having incarcerated actors able to perform Orwell's classic.
