An announcement from PPA Alumni Artist Micah Shurtleff's parents:
"It is with much sorrow that Tim and Charla Shurtleff bid farewell to Micah Shurtleff, our last remaining son on earth. Sadly, Micah’s life was prematurely and violently taken by a drunk driver at the age of only 45 on 5/29/22.
Micah experienced much tribulation in his life; however, he was a generous soul who loved animals, loved to fish, tinker and spend time with friends and family.
He was finally living his life with much potential and happiness. Micah held a full-time job at the Mr. Fuel truck stop in Villa Ridge as the maintenance manager. His co-workers said they will miss him because he was a good friend and got the job done without having to be supervised.
He was heavily involved in the theater group, Prison Performing Arts and had a significant other, Margo Wertenberger. He did his best to be a friend and father figure to his nephew, Lyric Shurtleff. He is also survived by his sister Miriam Shurtleff, nephews Jayson and Zane Carter, and nieces Alexis and Zoe Shurtleff.
We will be holding a memorial to honor Micah at
6:00pm Thursday, June 30
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
110 E 14th St.
Washington, MO 63090
If you desire, please send donations in Micah’s name to
Exceptional Equestrians of the Missouri Valley

Washington, MO, 63090
Micah took much pride in assisting his parents to initiate the program on the family farm when he was a teenager.
We hope to see family and friends and to hear stories about their experiences with Micah at his memorial."
